SOCIAL COMPLIANCE POLICY

Hub Leather (Pvt) Ltd. is committed to ensuring that all workers involved in production are treated with humanity and dignity and all are entitled to his/her basic rights.

  • No workers under age of 18 allowed to be hired. Every worker must be at least 18 years of age (according to minimum legal working age in Pakistan) proof of age being kept in personal file.
  • Workers can not be forced to work over the limit of working hours & overtime set as per the national legal law. Working hours whether ordinary or overtime, comply with all applicable laws. (i.e. 48 hours per week & overtime not more than 18 per week.
  • Workers entitle one day off in every 6 day period.
  • Workers have the right to leave their place of employment after having given notice and after having work the required notice period.
  • Workers not forced to handover money deposit or personal papers, unless there is a legal requirement, and are freed to leave their employer after reasonable notice period.
  • Workers are free to join peacefully and lawfully organize or join a trade Union or to bargain collectively.
  • There is no unjustifiable discrimination in the hiring of workers, the giving of compensation, access to training, promotion, and termination of the employment relationship or the retirement of the worker based on race, caste, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, union membership, philosophical views or political affiliation.
  • Workers provided a written employment contract with information regarding their employment conditions and wages.
  • Workers paid wages according to the minimum wages law (i.e. not less than Rs. 7000/= per month. Workers receive all benefits they are entitled for (leaves, bonus, gratuity, Provident Fund etc.)
  • There is no deduction from wages as a result of disciplinary measure having been taken. Disciplinary measure recorded in writing.

  • Workers provided pick & drop facilities free of cost.
  • All dangerous combustible and hazardous materials stored, used and disposed off in a correct and safe manner.
  • Workers are provided with a clean, safe and healthy environment.
  • The working premises are well lit & well ventilated and have adequate and safe facilities. Temperature in the Factory is tolerable at all times.
  • Every workers access, without unreasonable restrictions, to clean drinking water, clean storage area of foodstuff, sanitary washing facilities and an adequate number of toilets. Preferable separated for male/female and available on each floor.
  • HLPL not believed physical acts of punishment of workers and psychological or any other form of non-physical abuse of workers.
  • All machineries are well maintained to a standard to ensure that workers are not at any unreasonable risk whilst using machinery or whilst being near to the machinery.
  • Workers provided all necessary safety equipments, such as mask, machine belt cover, gloves, and finger guards according to the minimum national safety standards. Training given to the workers to ensure that both the machinery safety equipment is being used correctly.
  • All Fire exits and all routes to fire exits are free from obstruction & clearly sign posted in common language. Way to exit door not block by cartons, leather rolls, or debris, and if kept locked, keys placed behind breakable glass next to the doors.
  • First Aid equipments are available in each deptt. In case of accident workers immediately rush in company van to the nearest hospital for complete treatment.
  • Fire drill practices carried out at 4 times in a years and recorded in writing.
